Data Center Attacks
T14 · Infrastructure & Economic Warfare →AI compute is geographically concentrated — a small number of data centers house the majority of the world's GPU clusters. This concentration creates single-point-of-failure risk at the physical layer. Data center attacks target the physical infrastructure that AI depends on: cooling systems (GPU clusters generate extreme heat and fail catastrophically without cooling), power distribution (sudden power loss during training corrupts checkpoints and damages hardware), physical security (unauthorized physical access to servers enables hardware implants and data theft), and supply chain (hardware backdoors in GPUs, network equipment, or storage).
Data center attacks chain into T14-AT-014 (Systemic Risk Creation) when physical failures cascade across dependent services. Physical access enables T14-AT-013 (Economic Espionage) through direct hardware implants.
